Student Support

At Mount, we promote each student’s personal growth and provide them with strategies and tools that will help them develop academically, professionally, and socially.

In other words, we are one of the the primary supports for students throughout their time at Mount Saint Charles. We provide a safe, nurturing environment and establish trust in a confidential working relationship. We encourage students to share their feelings and help them develop positive solutions to the personal and school issues that come with personal growth. We help students with problem-solving, decision-making, and discovering their own personal relationships to learning and development.

Career Planning

Our support looks beyond Mount Saint Charles to what students may want to do in the future.

This can include career exploration via a number of tools (including Naviance), a career interview series, employment and internship support, and resume building while students discover new interests and directions each and every day.

Academic Planning

We help our Mounties plan their academics over their Mount career, aligning their efforts with their goals.

We focus on goal setting, and can help them find peer assistance and mentoring, academic support, and help them develop study skills and effective time management. We guide them through course selection, course mapping, and auditing, as well as virtual learning oversight and navigating NCAA requirements.

Personalized Support

We create individualized student learning profiles for every student, and we are constantly adjusting them based on one-on-one meetings, partnerships with teachers, parents and other support providers, and general advocacy.

We help our students by teaching coping strategies, supporting them as they navigate peer relationships, and we share helpful resources, all in a brand new welcoming environment that allows students space to think, plan, and re-center themselves.

College Planning

Students are supported from the moment they start at Mount to the second they graduate and go on to bigger and better things.  We help them:

  • Shop for a college and make a strong college list
  • Navigate the Common Application and Naviance
  • SAT prep and Score Relevance
  • The College Essay
  • Building a College ResumeVisiting Colleges and working with Admissions Reps
  • Interviews

A Culture of Respect and Encouragement

Working with students, we create a Culture of Respect and Encouragement with ongoing student recognition, mentoring, a Buddy Program that connects seniors to 6th graders, Student of the Month commendation, and, of course, Graduation and Awards ceremonies.
